what's this to do with on the cups??

Its because the cups don't have ABS so they don't have this rear bias unloading valve or whatever, they do an mot test for a abs equipped car and fail it because its not there.

my mot tester knew about this, all the people who carry out the tests should of got a newsletter of sorts which includes an article saying about the brake bias on the rear, i might be able to scan a copy up for you..

does that cup have a tow bar!?

I've got a tow bar.

Liked the idea of the Clio. Saw that no tow bar was offered as an option when it was on all the other smaller engined Clios's. Asked the dealer if there was any reason I couldn't have one, or whether Renault just thought people who bought that model wouldn't want one. Said if I couldn't have one the car wasn't any use to me because I needed to be able to tow a light trailer. Dealer said "no problem" and supplied the car new with one fitted.

Found out afterwards that the law where I am - maybe its not the case with you - says the legal maximum towing weight is what the manufacturer's handbook says it is. And the manufacturer's handbook says zero. So I need to be able to tow a trailer, I bought the car on the basis that I could, I paid for a towbar to be fitted, but if I tow a trailer I'm breaking the law and voiding my insurance. And when I complained to Renault that a dealer representing them fitted it, and they supplied it to him to fit, the answer I got was "we're sorry you are unhappy with the car, but don't complain to us".
