cutting out

  Range Rover sport
in the last few months as some of you know i have had a crash!
engine kept cutting out at 5000prm and the electrical fault light would show up!

once again the problem is back but now with different symtoms!

have taken it to the renualt specialist in my area (renotech)

at the moment its showing accelerator pedal wiring loom is faulty!

could this be the problem?

last time i thought it could be!

but the symtoms this time are cutting out at 1000, 3000, 4000, 4500 and 5000rpm! usualy on the odd occasion!

today has been really bad and cut out around 6 or 7 times!

now dont these sound like the symtoms of the coilpack needs replacing?

but on the ecu diagnostics this problem isnt showing up!

also another fault on the way home i put £5.00 worth of petrol which usual makes my millage from 100 go up to around 150!
today it went from 100 on £5.00 to 229! price of petrol was the same as usual!

can anyone please help me with this issue!

Was it a front end crash?
Tell them to check supplys and feeds to ecu, if no codes are stored then that would indicate the ecu is being switch off due to faulty wiring.
They should be able to plug the clip system in and carry out a recorded roadtest so when the fault happens it will be logged on the data stream recording.

yes was a front end crash!
the engine diagnostics said it was the wiring loom in the accelerator pedal!

could this be the case?
how much would this cost to repair?

So you've had it on diagnostics saying its the accelerator pedal? Does'nt it seem common sence to change the pedal? Or am I being a bit simple here?

well the price isnt cheap and tbh i cant just rewire a peice into the loom it will need a whole new one right?

im not good electrics or engines mate thats why im asking!

This fault.

Throttle unit automatic control, incoherence between throttle position and control

yeh thats what showed up!

you have any idea what the price is to fix this problem?

I ve been informed new throttle body! Approx 260 from Renault.

However, since Monday my car has been fine but has been acting in a similar way to yours.

I ve got it booked into a reputable garage on Tuesday so hopefully will find out the exact issue and get it sorted.

mate my first mk2 had a crash before i got it and i didnt know it kept going in to limp mode and not revving over 2000 (it took a long time to get there!)

what was replaced was the accelerometer and it worked! try it first its £22.50 for the part if i can remember correctly. start with the cheapest and go to the dearest first.
