Just been servicing the car and noticed I need a new drivers side CV Gaitor as mine has come loose and flicked its grease everywhere :(

Can the CV Gaitor be fitted with the Drive shaft still in place or do we need to completely remove the Driveshaft?

Anyone got a Part Number and Rough Price, I may be able to get it Trade but just a rough price would be great,

Cheers
Andy.

couple of options. You can get a "split" CV boot, which you have to glue together. They can be fitted with no shaft removal.
The best option is to remove the shaft from the car, dismantle the joint, and fit a new boot, then re-assemble

you can replace the cv boot without taking the shat out you just have to take damper out and hub off first but if its just the clip that has broken id just pack it full of grease and put a new clip on it

just make sure when you are fitting the new clip onto the cv boot it dont foul on the sump, mine did this for some reason so had to file it back a little and use smaller cable ties, personally i think its the sump that catches the clip and courses the problems in the first place, its only about 3-5mm away from the clip and with a little engine movment this could foul

Yep all nipped up and out of the way so should be no fouling at all, The Gaitor was still in perfect working order the clip had just broken so all done and regreased :)

It's happened to me, my n/s/f boot has come away from the hub, but it isn't split, and there is grease all over the inside of the n/s/f alloy :(. I got a boot kit from Renault, which was 11 quid trade price through work, not sure how much Renault do it at.

This consists of the boot and various clips, and its the big clip you want, just re-grease and wack the new clip on, aslong as your boot isn't split.

Thank you, good night.

Its all sorted now and running nicely at the moment :)

Cv had come away from the hub on the 182. Just packed it with some new cv grease and fitted a new clip. Messy to claean up.
