Cylinder Head

Anybody had any cylinder head work done by Hillpower?

Im think about getting my K7M SOHC engine flowed and maybe some bigger valves fitted from the F7R engine.

Wongys F7P is almost finished. Mines going in for cams but not head work next week.

Anyone tried fitting bigger valves to the K7M engine? The original ones have a diameter of 37.5mm, those in the F3R SOHC are 40mm. I dont think I can go much more than 7% bigger. Could theoretically release another 20bhp.

yeah you will not get a better job done on your head anywhere else.
had mine fully rebuilt, cant fault it one bit.

how much did the work cost? Did you have the engine rebuilt to original spec (I guess not from your car text )? Big valves? Flowed? Port matching?

I only live in Derby so Hillpower is only approx 20 miles way.

Well it was fully rebuilt but then modified slightly, the valve seat angles were changed and I think a few other "known" restricted areas where worked on.
cost 640 I think but the job was first class.
p.s mines a 1400, its just that well it could be 200bhp if I went mad on it ..lol.

Your best bet would be to give him a ring and tell him what you want etc and see what he says.

Hey steve a. What have you had done to your car? Is it a 1.4 16v or just an 8v. I have a 1.4 8v and want to make it go quicker. So what did this engine rebuild and slight mod do?

modded head and cams and the car if a different thing alltogeter. if you thought the 16v was fast before now its just mental

well its had the rebuilt head which is modified.
powerflow cat back exhaust system
hillpower induction kit
hillpower cat replacement pipe
ecotek valve
splitfire leads on bosch super four spark pluggs.
Next is a hillpower chip and I hope to be seeing around 90-95bhp when thats done.

WONGY! Did you tell your insurance people about this? How do they like that? Do you think youre shortening the life of the engine by having work like that done to it?

the standard 1400 8v power figure is 80bhp.

Ah thanks. So with a decat, full exhaust system (performance), induction and chip what would i be looking at. Oh probably got for an ecotech aswell.

So, apart from and engine coversion, whats the best thing i can do to give me a big leap in performance. I am after getting a quick motor with all the bits i got now. Its my first real car and i want to keep it. So i want to mod mine to its max (or at least close) then get a new one.
