D4F 1.2 16V - 712 intake manifold on a 722?

  MK2 Clio 1.2 16v
Hi all, long time lurker - first time poster.

I have an 04 Clio with a 1.2 D4F, and I'd like to fit a cold air filter to it.

My dearest reader; before you start "Muh heatsoak" and "You won't get any more power out of that 1.2" I KNOW. it's just for fun, and something to keep me busy.

Now, the 722 varients manifold has the throttle body 'sandwiched' between the block and manifold, with a cavity running to the airbox. I'd like the 712 manifold as the throttle body sticks out the side and can easily be fitted with a cone filter. This is where I'm looking for advice.

The throttle body on the 712 and 722 are not the same, options include either making an adapter to retrofit the 8 pin 722 throttlebody onto the 712 manifold, or fit the 712 5 pin throttle body and rewire it to the original harness.

Just wondering if anybody has any experience or tips/tricks for doing this modification.

Thank you for reading

K&N or custom made plate adapter for a 712 is the easiest route.

Hi, Thank you for the reply. I've looked at these aswell but im looking at options to mount directly onto the throttle body inlet like the image attached, cheers

The base engines are the same so you in theory could swap the manifolds quite easily, if i was doing it id probably just swap the engine loom and ecu while i was at it and then it would definitely work 😂

My thoughts exactly, few connectors are different, like brake vacuum. Ill likely just buy the manifold then wing it from there lol
