dangerous -- help!

The handling of my car is becoming a very serious matter now . Driving to work this morning in Manchetser city centre, doing around 25 mph in fairly heavy traffic on Princess Street. On very slight acceleration i hit a small pot hole (i wouldnt even say it was that, more like a depression in the road) and the car flies off half way into the other lane!!! I couldnt do anything about it, as it was instaneous. The car went half way in the other lane, some guy slammed on and started beeping at me. He must of thought i was pissed! I was looking saying its not my fault its this f**king car mate! Its a good job there was no one directly beside otherwise there would of been some bad damage involved. WHY IS IT BEHAVING LIKE THIS!!!

It wobbles all over the place, and pulls to the left slightly. Im not sure whether it is the camber anymore. Maybe its a wishbone that knackered? Anyone got any advice on what to do here.

if its a wishbone then it will fell really wobbly wont it? like its veering from side to side?

still not sorted it out mate? youve had this going on for ages...i think this is what you need to do.

1. Get a garage or someone who knows what theyre doing to check your suspension for damage/worn joints/loose bolts etc. replace/fix anything thats knackered.

2. Get a 4 wheel lazer alignment done. that will tell you if your tracking/camber/castor angles are correct. if one or more of your wheels is well out alignment, some part of the suspension is bent. replace the bent parts then get it lazer checked again.

3 If the lazer test now shows no problems but the car still doesnt handle right, either flog it and cut your losses or be prepared to spend more money getting it set up properly with stuff like camber adjusting shims, bolts etc. see this thread for info on doing this.

yeah but it would be alright if i knew someone who knows what they were doing!!!!! I cant find anywhere.

that guy in Warrington said to me come down on Saturday. I told him i was coming a long way, he said oh yeah ill fit you in. Got there, he says o i cant do it today

You did say Paul Wilson Motorsport in Warrington didnt you? If so they had moved location, and it was a really small garage round the back of the main industrial estate. Maybe they have gone downhill or summat?

yep, thats the one. never been there myself cause im down in london. they were recommended by a guy i know who used to get his rally cars set up by them. might not be the same guys running it anymore tho.
