I’m looking at a full cage for my 182, but dash dodger or through the dash?

I’ve heard mixed reports but as a design engineer I wanted to hear others opinions.

Depends whether you want it for competition or just as a track car.
Competition then need through dash due to rule change.
Track car then dash dodger perfectly fine

Dash dodgers can also be a pain in the arse when getting in and out of the car. In my old Escort, I endlessly kicked the front leg of the cage, as it was right in the way when getting into the car.

Obviously a cage that goes through the dash and has double door bars will be awkward too, but at least they are safer

Does anyone have any tips for fitting the dash around a cage with a dash bar on an 8 point weld in cage? Just about to start intalling a weld in cage to my 200
