Dash is stuck...

  Toyota MR2 GT Turbo
I've taken the dash off my car many times, but now, I can't get it off!

I've undone all the screws, given it a yank and now it seems to be stuck in one position, it won't even go back on properly it is jammed in one place!

Can anyone off any advice?

It seems to be stuck behind the airbag as you can see in the first picture.

Same happened to me, was a right b*****d to get unstuck. Basically get the dash as flat as you can, push down where the clips are on the air bag as hard as you can and pull towards you at the same time.

Arrrg I cant get it off or on, I tried your suggestion with some help but it won't budge

Next to the airbag is a lip which is holding the dash up.

Just gotta keep trying, we had it stuck for ages, took two of us messing about. I think there are 3 of them clips at the back of the airbag, they need pushing downwards to release. I remember it being a right pain.

Grrr I hate this stupid dash!!!

On the top of the airbag there is a flat bit of metal with square holes that the dash slots into, if you do anything but pull it forward you bend them and its basically locked into place,

you need to get a metal bar, see if you can see what i mean by looking with a torch... then get the said object and push the metal back away from the dash..

Best thing you can do is get the dash as flat as you can and pull straight back, not up... that will make it worse.

P.s. make sure the battery is disconnected.

I'll try that tomorrow morning.

When it's off do you think it's worth snapping the clips on the dash so it won't get stuck again? Or is that a really bad idea if the airbag goes off?

Must have pulled it pretty hard to bend them, I thought they were fairly solid.

Personally I'd leave the clips on the dash once you get it off. As said providing the dash is pulled forwards and not upwards there isn't usually an issue. I've had mine off since no probs.

I had this problem the other day, Pull the dash forwards and give the area above the airbag a sharp thud keeping pressure on pulling the dash out, should release it enough to pass the clips that are holding it.

Got it off, the centre hole on the airbag has been bent somehow...
