Dash lights faulty?

While i was driving along with my head lights on the other night - all of the lights on my dashboard went out (dials etc.) and some of the centre console (rear heater button, lock button) however the individual bulbs like the rear heater, full-beam etc. were all still working. The Dash came back up again after about 2-3 mins, this has happened twice now - any ideas. Would it be a fuse?

Oh and it has happened a few minutes after turning the car on.

Argh, was just out driving and it has done it a few times - turning off and coming back on again. Really annoying, must be a loose connection right?

Not sure where to start looking, any ideas?

Won't be a fuse if it comes back on again.

theres 2 plugs/connection blocks on the back, i guess id start there? o but might be worth checking the fuse is in properly/connections clean etc first, its easier
