due to my car being an expression the interior is horrible so i thought this weekend i would try and tidy it up a tad so decided to paint the dash strips. it was the first time i had done any painting but i thought id give it a go!
i forgot to take a picture before but i don't know if it is the same on other spec cars but my dash strips had a horrible pattern/texture on them which i sanded off with a 400 grit paper along with the embossed airbag sign which was a b***h to get off! I then sanded again with a 600 grit sand paper to smooth it off a little more!
next the primer, i was doing the coats outside whilst i was helping my mate t-cut his car that he had just bought for £200 (complete banger but he loves it bless him!)
so after primer it looked like this...
then about four hours later (because i was impatient and didn't want to wait 24 hours) i sanded down the primer with a 600 grit paper wet and gave them about 5 coats of paint.
they then sat in the conservatory over night and in the morning looked like this! the finish i thought came out amazing! no run marks what so ever! the original plan was to them but after offering them up to the dash board i decided i liked them the way they were.
so it was then time to add the final touch and fit them so now my dash looks likes this...
all the products i used were from halfords but they were brilliant for what i wanted to do.
cheers for reading, all comments welcome.
