HI all,
See below image for warning light. Usually this is an oil service light i THINK. But in my case it's a little different..
I have also heard that this light comes on for other reasons too.
The 'miles till service' counter read approx 1500 miles to go.
When i start the car i get an OIL OK message (as it always does)
I took it in to have a full service the other day.. which includes:-
-Check engine oil
-drain and refill with engine oil
-fit new engine oil filter
-check all fluid levels
-top up fluids
-fit new air filter
-fit new fuel filter
-fit new spark plugs
along with other irrelevant checks.
approx 2-3 days later this light appears and says i have ----- miles to service?/ oil change?
That's not right as i'd only done another 100 miles if that, so should have 1400 miles left.
What could this be?
Wrong oil type?
Mistake during the service?
Does the counter go to ----- when an oil filter is changed or something?
My car still says OIL OK when i start the engine.
I dont understand and would like to SOLVE the problem rather than resetting the service timer just to get rid of the light.
I am taking it back to the garage at some point where they will almost definitely reset the light.
Unless you guys have any ideas?
