Dastardly Dealers

Does anyone know if Renault Dealers have the ability to reset the clock on car speedometers (especially the newer models)? I only ask because I would be interested to know if any unscrupulous dealers would do this to cars that have been test driven, have the clockss reset, and then sell them as new.

Call me cynical, but thats how I approach the retail trade these days.

I was reading and Article in the Sunday Time Driving section the other day. It was saying how easy it is to alter a digital milage clock using a laptop and special software. Renault could do it but it is very illegal and i doubt they would do it.

A mate of mine has a Seat Leon R and apparently it can be done (obviously by someone who knows what to do) by pressing a few buttons here and there then doing a 3-2-1 Ted Rogers style manouvre somewhere around the dashboard!

Some would say to have more trust in people, but then look at Saddam "what weapons" Hussein!
