dci 100 common rail system questions? :s

  DCI100
The internet says the Delphi fuel system is a common rail injection system. However there aint a common rail that I can see there.... How is it a common rail then?

I understand its some form of common injection because the fuel pumps not timed and delivers a constant high pressure bit it doesn't look anything like any of the other Delphi common rail systems and certainly doesn't look like any bosch or other common rail system because it ain't got a common pressure fuel rail :s

Anyone that knows, if you could share you're info that'd be helpful as it sparked a big debate with a few friends

direct common injection. where asost diesels only have one fuel pump, the dci's have two. low pressure near the battery and high pressure pump driven by the engine via the cam belt.

try searching diesel common rail injection for a nissan. we share engines with the micra dci.

Yeah you see I undertand the fuel system the only thing I don't get is why it is common rail cause its not like the common rails on common engines or like the other Delphi systems I've seen...... Annoying
