DCI Back to same problem

  Clio Dynamique S DCI 86
Hi, was having major start problems, changed glow plugs, for a few days it was fine, and now it takes 2 of 3 turns to actually start, and is then lumpy until warm. Any ideas?

Thanks

yep egr valve...we had a dci in the workshop a few weeks ago with the same problem

if the egr is to help with cold starts i have removed mine but it fires up first click everytime .

egr valves are common on the dci's for sticking . you can take the engine cover of and get to it very easily . you can remove the valve itself from the casing without having to dismantle the hardpipes etc . then clean it in carb cleaner or any degreasant . give it a good scrub and pop it back in . hopefully this will solve your problem

Keep gently whacking it, it eventually comes out. Cleaning this didn't solve my problem btw (although it was so clogged), I had an air leak in the boost pipework. But that still hasn't fully fixed it, re-coding injectors is next.

^ Yeah that's right. We had to use a screwdriver. We knocked the casing out as well though LOL had to stick that back in.

Egr may not be your problem. Any fault codes? It could be your glow plug realy which is located on the side of your battery tray
