dci Glow Plug Light always on

  "Navy" N17 TWO
My lady-friend's dci65 Clio is giving problems

The glow plug light is always on, can be switched off when hooked up to a diagnostic computer but comes back on again after a few days

No faults are found on the diagnostics :S

Any way of getting it off/back to "normal"?
What can I check?

Cheers
Trev

Also the injector light comes on too - and stays on with the glow-plug light as above

The car seems to be a bit "chuggy" sometimes and occasionally when pulling off it can be a bit more responsive than normal

try checking the coolant temperature sensor as this tells the engine how much pre/post heating is required

No it's a bugger to start from cold - sometimes gives out a wee puff of smoke when you get it started :S

When you're lucky enough to have the light go out - it starts & runs 100%
She wants to try & resolve it before the winter sets in

i would go with checking the coolant temperature sensor also check glowplugs for voltage, fuse, relay etc

Lol just posted an identical topic! My dad's having this trouble. Had the glow plugs changed, no luck, phoned Renault they said it's the relay, £50 later and still it stays on. Had the engine management thing reset and it works now, but apparently it comes on after a couple of weeks and goes back to being hard as hell to start.

Now Dad's car is doing this! :banghead:

Fault reader yesterday said it was an "intermitent Camshaft Sensor fault" - they put a new Camshaft sensor in yesterday and everything was hunky dory.....until this morning on his way home from work.

The glowplug light is on again and won't go out :dapprove:

I don't think he has actually but I'll ask when I see him later.

Just back from mechanics with it and got the fault code cleared - 271 this time.
"Injector command circuit - cylinder 4"

There's over 138k miles on this little beast!

Just an update - glow plug was changed a while back.

The car has been fine "so-far" :) apart from being trouble-some to start at times
