De Badging / Painting Renault Badges...

  Iceberg 172
Hi Guys,

I'm wanting to remove the Clio badge from the boot, I take it this is just stuck on and there's no holes or anything!? As I'm hoping to do this on Saturday when fitting my new steering wheel.

Other thing is painting the front and rear Renault diamonds (or whatever they're called!) satin Black. How are these removed? Just clips? Is there any tips someone could give me to carry out this job?

Thanks in advance!

Are you kidding!? I take it why that's the only badge which remains!

So to remove it it's a body shop job involving filler and paint :( What a flucking joke.

a few people on here have covered the holes from the Clio badge with the new style Renault Sport badges. that looks alright....

Nah, not my cup of tea. I'll pop in to my local bodyshop on saturday whilst the mrs is at work... she'll never notice i've had it done so won't have any idea what it's cost so i'll get away with it!

Yep that looks lovely. Do you mind me asking what they charged you to do it?

I take it the whole bootlid needs taking off and the bottom section spraying??

What about the Renault symbols front and rear??? Just clipped in??? Hopefully I haven't got to take the bumper off to get the badge off

i think it cost me £90. there was a small dent and the 2 holes to be filled from the badge and a full tailgate respray.
front diamond pull's off, be very carefull tho, the pins can snap quite easily.
rear diamond is slightly harder to remove. open boot, remove plastic pannel, there are 3 nuts nolding the boot release surround on iirc. remove this, then you will see that the badge is pinned and glued on. pick the glue away carefully from the pins, then the diamond pops out. i am painting my rear diamond when the weather gets warmer.

Superb. Thank you very much Luke! You're a big help!

I will speak to my bodyshop tomorrow, I've used them for a number of things (smoothing bits n pieces!) so I'll try and get that done on Saturday.

I'm a bit heavy handed so I may just buy another Renault front symbol, paint it, then remove the front one and refit the new one... then it doesn't matter if I mule the old one!

yeah, buy a spare boot release with diamond off ebay, they usually come up for about £15 or so. have a play with it and if you break it etc its not the end of the world, you always have the original. lol.
no probs for the help.
