hello all, new boy with a silly question here; will a de-cat throw up any fault codes on a 172 cup?

That all depends on how much noise your ears can take. I had mine decatted for 2 days and couldn't stand the noise plus I was embarrassed to drive it.

From inside the car it just sounded s**t because it rattled everything inside lol. Didn't help having a stripped rear though.

mines never come on, what i did was disconnect the second lamba sensor and then water proof tight the loom side

on the 172cups when ur emissions light comes on disconnect the second lamba sensor and delete the fault codes and it will never come on again thats what i did work fine but doesnt work on the 182 due to they have a heater element in the second lamba sensor so its 50/50 it will either come on or not only on 182s

Go for silenced imo

imo makes sod all difference to noise really, its just a gimmic and costs £40 more for a pointless box. I had a silenced 172 de-cat btw and it made me exhaust 5 times louder between 2k - 5k.
