De-cat

I was thinking of getting a scorpion de-cat too go with my scorpion system on my 182 Clio but been told buy several people not too as can cause a range of problems with lambda's and lights on the dash? what's the advice on this people thanks

Ive got a scorpion decat and scorpion exhaust. The emissions light is on the dash like with any decat but never had any problems with it in any way. If you keep the original cat you can put it back on very easily for MOT's

Yeah am aware that will come on pal just heard can cause many other problems especially the lambda on these clios and new too the scene so just getting some advice first but uve never had any problems then?

Emissions light is more of a lottery i think, mine has never came on for decat and i know another lad who's didn't either. Id recommend one, they sound awesome decatted imo. Plus after all even if it does come on its only a little light? my dash is littered with service and airbag lights, you soon get used to them.

What needs to be done to get one fitted? Do they cut the CAT out, and flange the pipes so the decat can be taken in/out for MOT's? I also have a Scorpian RS192 exhaust, so will I need a Scorpian Decat? Thanks

For a 182 they should all be the same, they dont cut anything, cat is removed as its bolted at one end and clamped at the other,then de-cat bolted and clamped in place, thats why its so easy for a 182

Mines a custom built one to go with my custom system, paid £100 for mine, well worth it.

Cheers for the input and help on the matter too guys think il go ahead with it then should a little light wont trouble me and hopefully sound pretty good loved the sound of my old pug 106 gti that had scorpion decat

I have a ktec exhaust with decat and my emission light isn't on and never has been. To the op, car runs a lot smoother and freely throughout the gears, it's a lot better with one. The noise is draining on the motorway though.

I'm also looking at getting a de-cat for mine and had one other question. I know ideally one should get a map of some sort when fitting but is this a must as in if I don't will it cause problems? I'm looking at a map down the line but for the time being wanting to do little bits here and there? Sorry hope don't think this is a hijack as thought it relevant to the original post...

No you don't need a map with a decat, it's not a turbo car

I've had a decat on mine for about 6 weeks. The light has come on.

I love it though, I don't think I'd ever put the cat back in other than for MOT. I've got the Scorpion SRN019 system on mine and I love it. Its pretty loud under load but doesn't drone on the motorway even with the decat. Its a great system.
