Decat owners - Have you seen the light?

The toxic emissions warning light that is.

I'm upto 350 miles with my decat now and no light thus far.

Yep

Sports cat on and it came on last September.....car still went through mot and drives fine.

Got used to it now so haven't bothered trying to fix it.

My decat has been on 6 or 7 months, the warning light flashes once in a while, normally whilst in heavy traffic. Otherwise it is always off.

I'm going to do the dash off and bulb out fix....cant be arsed to f**k about under the car taking lamdas out, plugging up holes etc

my bulb was always on until i changed the spark plugs - never been on since..

no idea if it passes the emissions test, other than it did *ahem* without being tested

I've done about 30k in mine since the decat went on and I've still got no light showing.

Never had the light on mine. Fitted about 6 months ago and 2000 miles.

Just put a piece of black tape covering the bulb hole between the circit board and the gauge plate.
Its totally hidden and if you wanted you could just unpeel it without damaging the light

I put a mini guide up on here a while back.

Unbolting / blocking / plugging the lamda holes still dosent sort it

K-tec sell a fault diagnosis thing which i belive can turn off the light. Decent price too

my light originally came up as didn't put the lambda sensor back in for a week or so, but as soon as I plugged that back in it went off and hasn't come up since.

that was about 3 months ago, and when it does come up I have a diagnostic tool which will soon turn it off!

I have just ordered a diagnosis jobby off ebay. search for "gs100"
My light came on, for no reason, been running a sports get for ages.
The dealer reset the light when doing other work and its not come back.

My light comes on now and again but goes off within a couple of days... I have taken the second lamba probe out and taped the end up. I have plugged the hole with a lamba i got from the scrappy for a fiver, job done... Although I was worried recently when I had to drive through a large puddle and the light came on for a couple of days but when back off again.

So there are a few who've escaped it. Not that it's a big deal, but it's better if it stays off.

I have mine decat and light comes on only in traffic... ohh by the way when the SERV Light comes on the Traction Control light also goes on (the little triangle) and it cant be turned of.. I think i will do the tape trick Andy says... HEHEH
