Decat Q's

So i dont quite understand what a decat is lol. Can you literally walk up to a car and remove the cat ? or is a "decat" simply reffering to a sports cat which can be bought from ktec or anywhere else.

Also, what does a decat do to the car ? the performance, sound and the bad things, such as emissions ?

CAT - normal
decat - just a pipe direct from the manifold
sport cat - same as a cat just a bit less restrictive

power wise

decat wins every time


pain in the arse wise, its gotta come out every year for the MOT

my mot place is quite happy to give it the okay if i show them the normal cat in the boot.
