decent, affordable aftermarket alarm?

I had Ai606 on my old car (not clio) .. never false alarmed on me in 4 years.

Simple to put into 'dog' mode if you want to leave windows open, and also has option to lock with no beep if you're sneaking home at 3am.

Some funky additions if needed too like boot pop (solonoid might be req'd though).

Think i paid £250 fitted, about 7 years ago and it got me £50 off my insurance policy straight away as it's Thatcham Cat1 alarm/immob !

I had this toad alarm fitted today by Barry at safe n sound in wakefield, he came to my house, ripped out the s**tty cobra jobby as it had messed up due to water damage and he fitted me the Ai606 with the total closure and pager too, basic system is £219 fitted and the extras are a bit more, pager is another £65.
I can't recommend Barry highly enough and he will travel anywhere to fit it, he says it's by far the best system for it's money and he only recommends them now, it's got some cool features too like auto door locking when you start the engine and auto unlocking when you turn the key back off, also the sneak home feature is a good idea,You can also upgrade to tracker with it too or have it text your mobile if it's triggered, oh and it has an impact sensor option which Barry chucked me in for free :D

This guy is top notch at his job and knew his way round the clio like the back of his hand, i told him he should be a trader on here cause the ammount of clio alarms that go wrong is unreal, also he said any decent car thief would know in seconds how to bypass the clio cobra alarm as it works off a live wire feed from the car so basically it's useless, he told me how to do it but i'll keep that one to myself ;)

Here is his website:

Email or phone him as he always answers :)

Yeah he says he is on loads of forums and i told him he should be on here as there isn't a decent auto electrician/alarm installer on here, he said he will but he likes to be invited onto forums first, he'd do a cracking trade with all the crap standard 1*2 alarms out there :)

Not 100% sure mate, the guy lost me a bit when explaining but it means roughly that the system fitted was a cat 2 but had something like an extra immobiliser circuit fitted to make it a cat 1 for insurance purposes, i may be wrong on that though :)
