really wouldnt ask for this kinda opinion on cs mate....
decide what you want to achieve with it.... personally i wouldnt bother playing with suspension unless ure gonna track it

i know what i want to achieve mate.

I'm not going to be like every other cs member (mentioning no names :clown: ), i'm gona have fun with this like i did my 1.2, which was actually most liked on the forum by most members:eek:

the main reason i brought the rs1, is cos i have loved this car since i first caught my eyes on it, and i know it will looks much better once I've finished with it, plus i plan to keep this one for quite a long time

btw.. i wont be tracking it thats for sure. :approve: :nono:

but then again, everyone has their own opinion

I wouldn't bother with suspension on a atrack car there are more important things to sort out forst.

Plus stock setups fun.

ditto...

its like me when people reply to my threads saying why bother spending £500 on coils for a 1.2 and spending so much on this and that....why not just buy a sport in the first place and all that....but you only live once and you'l only ever have that car once, so why not?

....and breathe......

do not mess with perfection, if you do, i'm driving to your gaff and giving you a slap!

spend the cash on track tuition

Its so hard to keep your 172 standard! I have some ph2 rear lights in my garage and with all day off, I know Im going to find myself fitting them even though I want it standard.

...A standard looking 172mk1 looks so good low on coliovers though!!

  Chocolate Bar™
leave it standard, go for eibach sportlines or proper high end coilovers. just fitted my KW's and the rear dampers have gone which means its a hard drive and completely ruins the whole car. luckily this'll get sorted next week, but i would avoid cheap coilovers like the plague.

As Fred said, standard suspension is just great. Don't put those shite apex on, you will so regret it. I say try and keep it standard. Every Ph1 is looking the same. Just do lights, then concentrate on engine :)

  Golf R/Leon FR
keep it standard as said and spend money on the engine jay.

but if you have your own ideas then stick to them :)

anymore comments.. ???
i really want coilovers looking at the pic..

thanx for all your comments so far guys...
im gona think long and hard about this one

you'll just end up chucking £3K or so at it

tell you what, i'll take you out for a spin in it, and PROVE to you that a mk1 172 is the best car to grace gods earth in standard form
