Declaring Audio To insurers

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
I'm picking up a Clio Dynamique Hopefully this week, And I am intending putting quite a large system in it,

However, Will i need to declare this to my insurance? I understand if I dont, And it gets nicked I Cant claim for it, But if say I crashed, Would they void my insurance?

I dont want to declare it, AS if it does get nicked, I'll never get money back I'm after, I'm planning quite an expensive system (Pioneer Flip out, Diamond Componants, RE Subs etc etc, And Dont mind running the risk of theft, But do i need to declare this to my insurance as I am changing the standard equipment?

I know I had a fully modified car before, But that was insured through a specialists, I cant see the likes of Elephant "understanding" the audio, So I wasn't going to declare it?

Thanks

swift cover iirc cover you upto a grands worth of audio equipment.

but to be hinest you need to check with your insurers because IF you crash and its your fault they will look for any possible undeclared modification with a view of voiding your insurance and not paying out.

  A well built VW
Buy a seperate policy just for the audio if it really matters most insurers will give you a set level of cover and i would declare it

curchill will insure £1000's audio all i have to do is tell them, but sticking a set of rims on is not coverd! dumb lol

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
MOST insurance companies cover roughly £500 standard audio cover.

I am with Tesco and they cover up to £1k BUT it has to be FACTORY FIT.....

So in most cases no one will cover you.

When i had my flip out screen, xbox, dab etc.... i got sperate audio insurance from a specialist. cost me £58 a year or something but covered everythign i had. Was much easier.

liverpool victoria do 500 quid of audio equipment, they told me when i asked before taking out my policy. Just call up your insurer, it's the only way to know.
