Deleting Android apps

Got an app (android auto) that's playing up. Been trying to delete it and reinstall, but when I reinstall it has the previous settings I've used saved, so clearly there's some file etc that isn't being deleted when I remove the app.

Any ideas how to competent remove the app and all associated files?

Hold down in the app (menu might come to the top of the screen)
App info.
Storage.
Clear cache.
Uninstall.

That's how I get rid of any apps.

As above mate. Playstore keeps the info so you can just install it quickly.

Tried all the above, doesn't work. Used a couple of file manager apps, found some files left behind. Deleted, problem sorted.
