Devil de-cat, centre-section and box

Got so naffed off with the rattly centre-section that Renault fail to do anything about (despite me moaning about it for the last 3 years) that I decided to go for a Devil de-cat, unsilenced centre-section and un-homolgated back box. (Im concerned it may be a bit loud, but well see :))

Stupid question follows... Do I have to sort out the fuelling or will everything be okay? Ive got one of the first 172 Mk1s with twin-cat and single lambda sensor so I hopefully shouldnt get the ECU issues suffered by those with 2 lambdas, but I just want to know if itll make it run too rich/lean or not?

Cheers,

Matt

huh, most MK1s ive seen have the twin cat.

you shouldnt have any problems, but it will be freakin loud!

Thanks Ben! I was under the impression that only the Mk1s with lightweight bonnets (ie the early ones - pre 01) came with the twin-cat, but hey, who cares!

Im really getting worried about the loudness, but if its too bad, I can apparently just stick the old back box on and it should quieten off a bit.

I bought mine in mid 2000 brand new and its got the twin-cat jobbie, so definitely the older ones had it - no idea really about the new ones as Ive not seen one...

well, i cant be sure with the UK market, but our cars are UK spec....so i would assume its the same.

All of our MK1s had the shiney twin cat, ally or non ally bonnet.

All of our MK2s came from teh facotry with the single cat and twin lambdas, but i have seen pics of warrenty chnges where the MK2 is retrofitted with a different twin cat............im not sure if they are comming form teh facotry like that though.

Dunno, maybe Ren jsut uses what it can get...lol
