Diff between 172 rear shocks and other models?

  TVR Cerbera
Is there any difference between 172 rear shocks and other models, cos i can't afford coil-overs, it already has Spax springs on it and my rear shocks need replacing ASAP(1 has just dumped it's oil!) and i can't find any listings for the 172 but loads for other models.
Please help as it likes going sideways at the mo!

A new one from Renault is only £40~50 or so.
Its different though different bound rebound etc rates although any clio will fit.

On another post they said they were about £80

An entire coil over kit will only cost 400 so i don't wanna spend mor than about 75 on a pair.
any ideas or views are welcome

You won't get any decient coilover kit for £400 unless its second hand or GAZ (which I don't highly rate as there dampers are like metal bars).
Last time I looked they would have been about £45 for normal dampers

seriously if you can't afford coilovers, a nice set of matched konis or something will be cheaper but just as good

thanks for that guys, but does anyone know if i can fit a lesser model's uprated springs and shocks (spax for example) to my 172 ( as i can't seem to get a kit for a 172!)

None RS dampers won't fit but springs will there interrchangable.
However if you don't get the right stuff for your car your asdking for a bad ride and problems.
There loads of 172 kits out there.
