Digital mph display

My imported zed speedo is in kmph

Is there any kind of digital device i can get about as big as a boost controller which would sit on my steering wheel column just by the speedo and calculate my speed in mph?

I just want a little digital display which shows me how fast i'm going rather than me having to convert the clocks/speedo over.

Links to mentioned products? i.e - ebay.

Any help appreciated.

I've got those but don't really wanna drive around everywhere with my sat nav on. Just wanted a little digital display that peaks up through my steering wheel kinda thing, infront of the speedo.

If there is nothing i'll have to get the speedo changed to one in mph.

Im sure ive seen something along those lines on ebay or somewhere similar, where you connect it up and it displays your speed on the windscreen

There is a pulse counter circuit somewhere that displays MPH/KPH using the pulses from the speedo drive. Only works on cars with electronic speedos. I think VDO made it.

My 911 has this in the display as standard, it is so quick to read as opposed to an analogue readout, and a push of a button converts it to KPH for use in Europe.

I found a way of displaying speed information on the trip computer display on my Wifes Golf 4-Motion, from the VW owners forum, it was just a case of pressing two buttons on the OBC.

I am sure it should be possible on a Clio, is it not done on some other Renaults ? not sure about the zed though.

Ok cheers, the face ive just seen on ebay wont go on mine as mine has some aftermarket veilside 320kmph (197mph or so) speedo so it will be out of sync with the normal face.

Which means i'll have to buy a whole new speedo/clocks from a UK car but I need to try and retain the km reading for mileage.

Chris, I think you may find you need to change the pulse generator in the gearbox to correct that and then you don't need to swap the whole instrument over.

My son did something like that on his old Toyota Celica GT4, he found the info on the owners club site.

So if I changed that I could simply take out the speedo assembly and replace the kmph with the 180mph speedo backing off ebay and it will be automatically calibrated to that?

I think thats all he did, can you not check on an owners site, it must have been done on that car before.

I just looked at that one on Feebay, and I think thats all you need. It doesnt change the total miles recorder, that will still be in K,s
