Dilema!!

  Clio 1.4 Dynamique
hey there,
am currently in th market for a new car, have been tempted by corsa cs but decided to go for a clio again.

as much as i would love a 172 or 182 i am only 18 so that rules them outta the question!!

but have seen 2 cars which i am interested in....one is a 1.2 dynamique (172 replica)
the other is a 1.4 dynamique (which is a good few hundred cheaper than the 172 replica)

both are similar ages 53plate and both done similar miles, 50,000.

was just wondering wat you lot think i should go for?? i ideally want to turn the car into a 172 replica (just bumpers and rs grill and sideskirts) so would normally go for the 1.2 which already has these...

however the the other is 1.4 and cheaper. but do you think if i got this one, i could buy the 172 bumpers, sideskirts, for around £400?? because if i can i will go for the 1.4!

sorry for the long post!!
thank you

i would go for a 1.4 16v, used to have one on a 52 plate, maybe new wheels and dont waste your time with trying to fake it as a 172/182, keep your money as you wont recoup it when you sell and keep the cash aside for when you can get faster, too many really badly done up clios in the brighton area, seen a real cack heap in the lanes last week

having a think, if you do want it to look like a 172 and your happy to spend you £££ just say get bump strips colour coded, 1.4 badge painted silver and pick up a set of 172/182 alloys but honestly wouldnt do more than that

cheers lads

well my mind has been made up wit help from u lot and my insurance company...

called them up askin how much it would cost me extra having a 1.4 (used 2 have a 1.2) and was only an extra £210 a year!

they then asked if the 1.2 had any modifications and obviously bein a 172 replica has quite a few, but i didnt say any of them, just said about the windows tinted...and he sed i cant have any modifications under 25! wat a joke!

but at least that made me make up my mind on the 1.4!
color code, rs grill, and 172 alloys i think for me. then mayb 1 day the 172 bumpers!

cheers fellas

Err £210 is a fair old bit personaly get the 1.2

O and yep your a risky driver at your age etc if I were an insurers I'd not cover you. WHy do you think its unfair they won't cover you.

PS not decaliring modification is stupid and illegal you might as well not bother insuring it.
