disadvantages of buying an ipod touch unlocked?

Well, i know very little about the touch, but i was wondering what Disadvantages there are of having/buying an ipod touch UNLOCKED?

im looking at a 2nd gen 16gb

Just buy a standard one and do it yourself. Don't pay the premium because he's done it for you.

It's very easy to do.
