diy matched inlets

Do I have to match the plenum to the lower inlet manifold aswel as the lower to the head. Because when I had my plenum off today sorting oil leak it looked as if there wasnt any difference between that and the lower manifold

Every little helps, but the casting process was far better up top than the lower.
