I went to my local ICE store and was recommended the following setup:

- Alpine 9827RM (complete with stalk & interface leads)

- MB Quart 13cm Front & Tweeters, + Rear (Coax)

I was looking for a "good quality" MP3, WMA, CD player + direct replacement speakers. I didnt want to invest in an amp, sub woofer and the rest of the 9 yards, also losing the Renualt CD changer didnt bother me too much, aparently it interconnects with diddly squat apart from the standard OEM HU. I wasnt too keen on replacing the Tweeters in case the car falls apart afterwards ... even if they assured me that it was a walk in the park. Anyone have this setup? How does it sound?

The price I was quoted seemed to be a little on the high side (or my pockets are getting deeper!). How easy is it to install this stuff, assuming that I shop around and get the components from the cheapest places? Is it as simple as remove the old and plug and play the new .. i.e no soldering, no tricky connections, HU just slots right in, etc.

Thanks for any help!

Got MB Quart 13cm in doors and the tweeters in the top of the dash, had em in my 53 plate dynamique since 2 weeks after i got it, been fine since, sound wise, superb, what model are the speakers your goin for?

Also have an MB Quart 10" sub in a sealed MB Quart box, and MB Quart 6x9s in my auto acoustic stealth shelf.

It depends on how good your patience are?

When I had my golf I payed for someone to install both sets of components. Only cost me 35 per set. Took then 6 hrs to fit 2 sets. Had all seats out to get to the back.

Good thing with paying someone is that if they do blow you should be able to get a new pair free.

I have seen that you will need an adapter to fit on the std Renault speakers though!

Also you will need to take the top of the dash out to fit the adapter for the display. If you had it out you might as well change the tweeters as well!
