i suppose, got technics 1210 mk2's... i suppose same sort of thing as them really aint it, not exactly brimming with features, infact probably one of the most simple decks out there.. but biuld and reliability is ace..
hmmm...
had a go of a mates gemini cs02 before and thought it was really good, but for the 50 quid extra.. the numark seems to be different and has the edge as far as features go!!
I've got a DJM 600, just so easy to use, the knobs and faders are all a good size and really well spaced out. These things are built like tanks too! I've used Allen & Heath in clubs before and I find them a bit fussy to be honest (wasn't that impressed with the Penny and Giles crossfader) but the sound quality is better than the DJM range. Anyway A&H are bloody expensive too!
You won't be disappointed with a DJM mixer unless you're a big time scratch DJ, in which case you I reckon you should be looking at Vestax, Ecler or Rane.
Also nothing wrong with buying a second hand mixer, just make sure it all works before handing over the cash.
Do you want it just for the effects and do you really need 4 channels? For that sort of money it isn't going to be great on the sound front. You'd be better off spending the money on a decent quality mixer.
Effects tend to get over used and don't make a better dj. I went out and bought a Kaoss pad when it first came out. Soon got bored and sold it.
hmmm well i dont need it to be exactly brimming with effects... and 4 channels would be ideal, 3 at a minimum really as i would be running CD deck also..
so 350.00
personally if you had to choose a mixer of any spec - what would it be.
Citronic and Numark build quality isn't very good, so won't last as long. Basically you get what you pay for. That white vestax one looks pretty cool imo.
Do you have a large DJ superstore near you where you can test any of them out? There are a few dotted around the country...
I've never had any issues with Citronic but couldn't say the same for Numark. I'd go for either Vestax if you want decent quality/feel. The white one is a great price.
