Do Dealers Buy Modified Cars?

My car has alloys and is lowered, I'm getting a new car Friday so need this one gone,

Would they accept a car that's modified from standard? I dont have all the bits to return to standard,

Other alternative may be We buy any b*****d Car!

A guy I know traded his 182 cup in against a new R27,
his cup was remapped, had a Milltek exhaust and Sparco seats,
the dealer said he would have preferred it standard,
​but it didn't affect it's trade in value.

they do- however more often than not for less than a standard car-

Lowered doesn't mean much, but non standard alloys may be an issue.

It's hared for dealers to sell a modified car over a standard one.

Have you still got the standard wheels?

Could make a few quid out of those 1.2s in the for sale section,
even if you don't i'm sure someone would be willing to swap for standards and a bit of money your way.

nah i dont purchased the car with them on..

They arent in the greatest condition really, White, and need a refurb, too much kerbing IMO..

can depend on the company you're trading it to I guess.. I'd say get it back to as close to standard as possible. I traded my astra gsi in with a crapton of mods, and looking back ... I really should of taken a few more days/weeks to remove everything and make some more money back that way. They'll give you crumbs for your car as it is imo - may aswell try and make it as profitable as possible!

Mine looks OE on the exterior but full Spax coilovers and Scorpion stainless exhaust with K Tec goodies under the bonnet. Tried selling it private but no luck so part exing being my next option. I also don't have the OE bits to swap over either, i guess sourcing the parts over the next 2-3 weeks could be the answer.

Two cars i'm interested in, Volvo V50 or Mk5 GT TDi Golf, was thinking of taking it there to see what they'd offer for mine then pay the difference (half knowing they'd probably offer me a pittance)

Trade price I'd suggest you're likely looking circa £1500 TBH. Really isn't worth part exchanging. If anything sell on here for high £2k's. Im surprised you're not getting offers. Not great news for when I out mine up for sale soon. :dapprove:

I'm surprised too but there we go, Pistonheads maybe? Failing that it looks like i'm stuck with it for a while

I remember the 182 that was for sale about a year after they were released, the link popped up on here it had 15" dynamique wheels, 1.2 dynamique interior etc, someone must have swapped all the bits over then traded it in and the dealer didn't notice, was up for top money at the time.

when I traded in my 200 they gave me a price, done the deal on my new car all signed etc then the dealer asked me what colour the car was as he hadn't gone to inspect it, was gutted as if I knew that id have taken the recaros out!
