Easiest way to look at this, and its the same formost cars, is this:

A Car changes Mark when a new body shell introduced.

A Car changes Phase when the same shell is used but other parts are changed.

Hence with the Clio range we have:

Mk1 Ph1, Ph2, Ph3
Mk2 Ph1, Ph2, Ph3
Mk3 Ph1

I'm not familiar with the Phases of the Escort but that pic I posted is a Mk1, and you'll notice the car in the video has a completely differnt body shell, making is a Mk2.

Quality vid, love both the MKI and the MKII. A mate of mine from college had a absolutly mint MKI only had a lil 1.1l engine but still good fun in the wet.
