Dodo Juice Lime Prime

  Fiesta ST-3
Hi guys/detailing gods

Giving the car a detail today along with a going over with my DA. Quick question: I have some Dodo Juice Lime prime that I've not really used. At what stage do I use/how do I apply it? And what does it do?

Cheers Scott

Hi mate since you have a DA this product is ideal.

After the wash/de-tar/clay you'll then use the LP, it's a pre-wax cleanser with Micro abrasives so it'll remove small marks and swirls with the right combo of pad.
Just work it into the paint via the DA let the pad/product do the work.

I used a 3m pad on a rotary and well it was just like using a normal polish to be honest, fantastic product imo, so versatile.

So Lime prime then either glaze then wax or just go straight to your wax.

Yeah mate, I wouldn't say LP is a polish it's what I call an Enhancement tool.

If you feel you want correction just use a polish, start with the least cut and see how you're going.

You can use LP after polishing as a cleanser but I think there are much better cleansers out there, LP appears to me after trying a few cleansers a little oily.
I would use it as an enhancement tool and removing light marring.

Man my day is going rather s**t in a detailing way.

I drive to town night and early to get a few bills paid etc. Get back to the car and it won't start. So 9 o clock becomes 10 before I get home. I get home after picking up some clay bar etc to find my mum and dad have gone out without unlocking the garage with all my detailing kit in.

So its now 12:19 and all I've managed to do it jet wash the car :( :slap:

Light has less or no abrasives? Just a pre wax cleanser/glaze. I'll await for JD to mark my answer first though.

Lols, you're right.

Get the LP it'll do everything the LP does and correct a little with the right pad combo.

What pad would you recommend for enhancement with LP? It'll be used with a Megs G220 and am looking at getting a selection of Lake Country pads with my next order?

On the same topic, what pads would you recommend when using GTechniq P1 on light to medium swirled Clio paint?

Hey Dave, I only rate Hexalogic and 3M pads, the rest imo are pretty poor, fall apart very quickly.

The Hexalogic ones give great finish/correction using DA, much more than 3M, 3M is more suited to a rotary.

At the checkout, type DW2 into the box for free delivery. :)

+2 on the above for the 3M pads.

However, the recent Hydratec pads from Lake County are pretty good as well.

Not very often you need a full set. I wouldn't really ever have to use a 3m compound pad for eg.

These ones JD? http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/lake-country-hydrotech-pads/cat_98.html
Would the Lake country CCS (dimpled) pads be better for a beginner due to them claiming to generating less heat? I'm not looking to use them that often so risk of falling apart is low, unless lack of use increases this. I have an order ready to place with CYC so ideally would like to get pads from there also.
how aggressive is the cutting pad? would I use this then drop down to passing with the polish pad when using GTechniq P1. And with the lime prime, polishing pad or finishing pad. I keep reading varied opinions on what grade pad dependant on make.
