Does the PS3 play blurays in 1080p?

Yes it does play them in 1080p, no idea bout the xbox but i would assume so

Dansta, you just need to buy a HDMI cable mate. Any cable will do, no need to spend more than £15 on one as there's no difference in PQ.

Rich it is HDMI 1.3 and was the first device to use the better standard I believe.

Mate just bought a premium (2 weeks ago) and it has the HDMI, but I know what you mean, there's still a lot of old ones out there.

Had my 360 replaced last friday for the 3rd time since last December due to thr ring of death. It deffo does have HDMI and says it upscales DVDs quality.

the xbox will play hd-dvd's at 1080p trough the standard component cable, ive tried it. you only need teh vga/dvi cable if you want to upscale standard dvd's via the inbuilt dvdrom

you sure as im sure component doesnt have hdcp so in theory shouldnt allow it unless its not been activated yet
