Door will not open

My mate has a problem with his clio rear door. It will not open from the outside, but it will open if you open it from the inside. Any ideas of what to look for when i take the door card off.

yeah I had a problem with mine, clip broke so door wouldn't open, had to replace the whole mechanism!
