really, I have been buying dvd since they first came out and I can never remember having to turn a disc over in the middle of the movie? I'm sure there might have been 1 or 2 but of my 600 i haven't got one i don't think.DS is old skool, when dvd movies first came out into the shops there used to be a lot of double sided discs, don't ever see them anymore although u can still buy them, they are just expensive.
bullitt is a single DVD5 (single layer, single sided), the size of the movie and extras is a measly 3.7GB (I have it, the silver one)it was the movie on one side and the extras on the other side. the movie was bullet with steve mcqueen. we also had another but i can't remember what it was. i was working in a PC shop and we had them there on demo.
its moving back towards them, a lot of HD-DVD's now have the SD version on one side and the HD version on the other.I've got quite a few double sided original DVD's, some with the films split and some with the Widescreen version of the film one side and Fullscreen version the other side.
Don't know why you'd want them these days though
you are joking? that pathetic, never knew that, but then again I was never stupid enough to buy it on DVDAnybody want to buy my copy of Armageddon where you have to flip the disc over half way through the film?

Unfortunately not, on both counts!
I bought it when the DVD section in HMV consisted of about a choice of 20 DVD's! I remember lending it my cousin who thought it had a really strange ending, it wasn't until I explained to him that you have to flip it over to finish watching the film that he realised what was going on.
They actually did this on a few DVD's at the beginning, and they offered a swap out where you could send back the original dual sider for version which didn't require you to flip it over.
Unfortunately, you did get Armageddon back again. I couldn't be arsed to return it, so I've still got it.
i have quite a few double sided films from when i got my first dvd player back in about 98 my first dvd was mars attacks with my creative labs dxr2 dvd decoder kit for my pc
i know of no-one that uses them and if they have taken off so much why aren't they more advertised or made by more people.Dual layers have taken off big time.. just maybe not for your average @ home punter..
There is a worldwide shortage of Verbatim (some say Ver-Ba-Tim ) Dual layers just now..

the drives have taken off but the media is still too expensive to have taken off IMO
