Drive shaft 172 help some one please

I've been driving today and I got a loud knocking noise from the drivers side and the steering wheel was shacking like mad I've been told it is the drive shaft on the drivers side of the car I've then ordered one from the car spares and it's the wrong one and they are saying it's not the one on the car has like a mount in the middle of the drive shaft that's bolted to the back of the engine but the one the car place have sent me does not and I know they have sent mr a drive shaft fir the 1.2 1.4 1.9 but they are having none if it at the car spares and say the drive shaft that's on the car don't stock them or list them so how the hell do I sort this out few ppl have told me u cannot buy the drive shaft u have to have them recon where can I get a drive shaft from and dint say the dealers because there saying the same thing and I need my car fixed

Reconditioned driveshaft from Renault. Around 250ish quid. Sorted.

It's a driveshaft for a hot hatch. Do you expect it to be 50 quid? :S

No I don't but my evo 8 mrfq 340 was less for a drive shaft but a Clio that much wouldn't mind but it's only a Clio it's not no evo or skyline

I've had more problem with this car than any other car I've ever owned in my life of passing my driving test and driving and that was 17 year ago never have another Clio in my lfe ever again Renault will be the last car I ever buy I would rather get a bus pass

How much is an Evo one out of interest? I wouldn't of thought it would of been far off that price for a brand new genuine one!

Could've sworn i paid about £120 exchange from Renault for a 172 driveshaft last year.

Ring round a few places ir halfords etc and look in the yellow pages etc many places do them on exchnage for cheap even eurocar parts etc

They will be wrong, trust me 100% on that. They will not fit. I bought a pattern part from Euro Car Parts and it was wrong, was too long. I then checked a few other places who bought from the same company and were the same manufacturer!

Genuine Renault is the only way to buy for drive shafts unfortunately.

You can buy them from one of the big name french car parts places i know ias i got one form there might have beeen gsf i forget. Also there are other places who cna rebuild them and sell/trade via car parts places which can work out much cheaper than renault.

There used to be, to be fair I havn't tried buying one for a bit. I'd only realy bother with Renault though but they can be pricy.
