  Ph2 172
as the tittle says im havin some serious drive shaft problems. i have had 3 in the past 11 months which is an absolute joke! iv spoken to the odd mechanic and have been told that i may need a shorter drive shaft as the car is quite low on coilovers.

does any one know what i can do to solve this problem properly?

using the correct genuine shaft for the car? there's 5 different shafts for each side available depending on the specifics of the vehicle

the drivers side drive shaft keeps collapsing in the middle. does that help?

are you using a genuine shaft? there are 3 different versions of the 2 piece shaft, 172 ph2, 182, and 182 cup/cup pack. All are different lengths.

Non-genuine shafts only cover one of these lengths, and run the boot on the outside of the joint, which causes it to rub on the block. Split boot = grease leaking out = collapsed CV joint
