On a more serious note, presume you are OK mate??
In for the lols, Yeah side air bag and you'll be reet mate.
"Watch this"
Oh and btw, if they repair that for 2k let me know where you got it done.
Not going through insurance then so it doesn't get written off.
Amazing how much you miss your car when you don't have it, prob be an emoitional moment when I get her back lol
Ah so you are paying for it yourself. It's 2k+ worth of parts easily from Renault.
You'll learn from this, we all do.
Love the title aswell.
Sounds like what your doing makes sense as you could of ended up with a cat d and more expensive insurance premiums.
AgreedNot really, as the person who buys this car next is technically buying an unregistered catd/write off which in my eyes is stingy as fvck.

Agreed
Impossible, fitting a quarter to a car is very invassive and will never perform..ie corrosion protection ect... to the same standard as factory.Care to explain why that is so???
Cat d is when the car is a write off as you probably know, the car is worth in excess of 6k, the repairs are way below that so would not be considered a right off plus there is no strucutal damage, the body shop has asked me whether or not I want a quick fix job which would of cost half the amount which I could sell on the week after and mug somebody off.
I've not gone down that route and the car is being repaired to new standard, if there was any structual damage what so ever I wouldn't take the car back and have insurance sort it. Hardly going to drive a car I consider unsafe or a tempory job am I.

If you decide not to tell anyone it's had major work carried out and i'm sorry this is major work then that's up to you.
Id still get the airbag sorted properly if I were you. You never know what could happen tomorrow, plus its abit s**t on the next owner eventually...
I'm pretty sure you have to replace the airbag computer which is underneath the ash tray.
