Drivers seat stuck!

  Albi Blue RS 200
As per title the drivers seat seems to be stuck at one side. I've tried budging back and forward (I weigh 15 stone so have plenty of weight to put on it :rasp:) and the bugger is stuck.

Not really a problem as I need the seat all the way back anyway as I'm quite tall, but I can't have a passenger in behind me.

What could it be?

I just this minute posted the same sorta thing in one of the other sections, except my passenger seat is jammed solid! Help!

I had exactly this problem in my last car, also a 2002 clio, turns out I had a 1 pence coin jammed in the runners. Had to take the whole seat out and off the runners to find out what the problem was first though...

The white balls are what the runners slide on I believe, they came out of my driver's seat runner also. I ended up replacing it, they still take way too much effort to move them though.

1. Disconnect your battery and wait 15mins. (Make sure you have your stereo code)
2. Disconnect the wires under the seat.
3. Underneath your car there are four bolts, the two nearest the sill are covered by rubber grommets and the two nearest the handbrake you can get to via holes in the exhaust heatshield. Undo all four bolts.
4. The seat will lift out.
5. There's a torx screw holding each plastic fascia on to each side of the seat. It is at the back of the fascia. Undo both of them.
6. The runners are held on to the seat with two or three nuts, depending on which side it is. Undo these and the runner comes off.

Oh and you might need to take the pretensioner off to get at the runner nuts. This is held on by a big torx screw and will fall off once that's undone. Take it easy with it, it's got gas or something in it.
Also, the cable that goes up into the seat will unhook if you get a screwdriver under it and lift up, next to where it clips on the runner.

Thanks, going to get stuck in at the weekend. Might just fit my offlice leather chair, it's much more comfortable :approve:
