Driveshaft replacement.

  306 GTI-6
Hi All,
Would somebody be able to give me an idiots guide on how to replace the o/s driveshaft on a 1998 1.2 Clio please?
Thanks in advance
Martin

You could have done a search been posted time and time again.

Remove the 30mm center nut in the wheel you should see it when you remove the center cap.
Jack car up
Remove wheel
On the inside side of the shaft see if there a pin in the shaft near the gearbox the shafts stops the shaft falling out migh not be there I've no picture sorry. Remove if its there you'll know anyway as if you don't remove it you cannot get the sfat off.

Undo the two bolts holding the ball joint to the bottom wishbone. and pull hub out depending how handy you are you can push the shaft in and pull it round the hub otherwise undo the bottom of the two bolts holding the strut to the hub. You might need to hit the old driveshaft to knock it out so it can be pulled out of the hub.

Pull the aft off
Replacments the oposite as above. if you have a driveshaft pin make sure you put one back in and don't forget the pin wasn;'t put right in the center of the shaft if you put the shaft on and the pin don't fit turn the shaft 180 degrees and it should its a tigh fit the pin anyway.

Buy a new roll pin though 30p or so you often find you break/shatter them talking them out.
