Drop in MPG since oil and filter change

C

clvs2222

had my oil and filter changed 2 week ago, ever since iv lost around 6MPG
before the change i was consistanly averaging 43-44 MPG, since then, i can seem to get it above 36-37 MPG.

the service was done by my machanic who i trust 100% but obviously something has changed, and no its not my driving!

should i have changed anything the same time? or have i used the wrong oil or what?

there is noway the oil would effect your mpg (noy unless he filled it with gear oil lol)

probably just down to chance that you are either a. using your right foot more. or b. you have had a sensor go down. such as lambda or temp sensors.

if your worried about it then get it pluged in and see if they are all working as they should.

  172 Race Car
It could affect the mpg and performance if its the wrong grade.

check what they put in it

should be 5/w40 iirc

should say that its a 51 plate 1.4L 16V, not a sport no more :(

  Lots of Alfas
Its probably due to the change in weather/temperature. The car uses more fuel on cold starts.
