Drum scraping noise

  Oyster Card
I made a post a while back that my rear drums where sounding like it was metal on metal whilst breaking, especially when starting out. It'd go away for a little while but reappear if i didnt touch the brakes for a while.

Well, the sound has dissapeared all together now.
I knew it was my drums as if i was going along (with no one behind me lol) if i gently lifted up the handbrake I could hear the noise.

Anyway yours truly here, tried to pullaway with the handbrake still on. twice infact as I thought the reason I wasn't moving is it might have slipped out of gear. Anyway ever since that little incident it doesn't make the sound anymore.

Could anyone advise as to what it might be? I'm thinking the drum mechanicim could have had a load of crap on them but then I think surely it would have cleared under hard braking?

Mine did exactly the same as you described. turned out that the brake cylinder was leaking, aver since that it's been fine (touch wood!!)

No I've only done that on the day before I was getting new tyres, but that was intentional (and smokey!)
