DS2500/Pagid Blue

  Silver Clio 172 Cup
I need track pads for the front of my car and will probably go for DS2500 or Pagid blue. I use the car every day for a 40 mile commute so I have 2 questions:

1. grip from cold?
2. noise/squeals?

The car is a 172 Cup running standard spec Brembo discs and braided hoses with 5.1. fluid. Currently on cheapo OMP 971 pads which are fine for road use and light track work but I'd like to beef them up as I'm braking later/heavier on track nowadays(!). But - I don't want a pad which will irritate me on the daily commute.

Any opinions? I'm expecting Fred along any minute...

Cheers

Tom.

My last pads were DS2500's.
Currently I'm running Pagid Blues.

Cold response? Nothing to choose between them.

For me I've experienced only slight squealing from both, again both the same level.

Fade resistance? Under very hard track use? The DS2500's give up if you ask for just a little too much.

The Pagid Blues have stacks in reserve.

1. Don't the pagids turn your wheels a funny colour though?

2. How does cold bite for either compare to standard pads - is it similar or "slightly worrying at first but OK once you're used to it"?

I've covered over 10,000 road and track miles and they're not even half worn.

The DS2500's were similar for me too.

I can't comment on brake dust for either as my Cup sees a carwash about 5 times a year if it's lucky so the wheels are always black.

For the mileage you have to bear in mind that I'm an advanced driving instructor and barely touch the brakes in day to day driving.

Edit: Cold response is almost identical to standard pads IMO.

igot the pagid blues, and to be honest they feel no diferent from stocks when cold.
When hot they dont ever seem to give up.
And i aint noticed my wheels going a funny colour, but they get washed once a week, so no real chance for anything to build up anyway. I cant see why they would do anyway, its not like the whole pad is blue.

thanks for the replies - useful stuff.

PS - I was worried that they might turn my wheels orange...

i have the DS2500s, they are very very good i feel. Once hot the fade is minimal from my usage, though to be fair iv never had any track stuff ( :( )
