Whats your view on them?

How well do they work?

EX DG CP Super Multi-coated Filters: Wide Multi-Coated Circular Polarizing filters

It reduces the glare and reflections from glass and water and other non-metallic surfaces. It deepens blue skies, and saturates the colors. The Sigma circular PL filter is designed to give best performance with AF Cameras. The Sigma wide multi coated circular polarizing filter (52mm to 82mm) is very thin, so it does not cause vignetting with wide-angle lenses. You can monitor the changes at different angles through the viewfinder as you rotate this filter.

Yeah i was thinking polarizing might be useless for what i want

Am i right in thinking an all day filter is what i'll need? - i'm having trouble with skys looking dull.

You can do most filter work in PS... filters are good for saving the lenses from being scratched though.

i've been using photoshop to sort out the lighting on most my shots and also if a filter is only going to cost £5 for a all day one from Jessops then its much easier to let that get scratched and knackered rather than my expensive lens!
