DVD Clip To Phone?

Im wondering if anyone on here can help me. I have a home made dvd at home of a recent party and there is a 20 second clip during it that i wanna make viewable on my phone. So i need to edit it down and send over to my mobile. I have a dvd drive on my laptop and a bluetooth connection on it. Just wondering if anyone knows how to do this and what programs etc i would need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DVD shrink to backup the 20sec section of the DVD to your HD.
Then use Nero 7 to export the clip to mp4.

There are alternatives to Nero but it's the best I've used.
