DVD RW to PC help

  Family Bus
Should really be able to figure this out myself really, but I cant!!

I have a Sony Handycam DVD-RW recorder. I've finalized a disc on it, and it plays fine on Media play on my PC. However, I wanted to somehow extract/save the videos stored on the disc, onto my PC in order to be able to post/upload them to various sites.

Have tried for hours now and dont seem to be getting anywhere at all!

Does anyone know if/how I can do this??

Thanks!

Are you tryin to copy from your camcorder ( dvd-rw) or did you put the dvd-rw into your dvd rom ?

You shouldn't really have a problem either way . Windows move maker should be able to copy it to your hard drive .

Edit : Just read it again .

So yo've got various video clips on the dvd-rw ? You should be able to just copy and paste them into a folder on your hard drive .

You've got them saved on your disc as proper dvd video files ( vobs ). Is it just one big clip , or many smaller clips ?

You need to convert the vob files into avi / divx files . Didn't you get any software with your handycam for converting files ? If not , try and get your hands on a copy of Winavi 8 . You can convert vobs back into avi files .

Rename the VOB to MPG - but this does not always work.

You get a program with the Camera to copy the files across, cannot remember what it is called, but it is on the disk you got in the box.

I use Media Studio to copy mine across, are they recorded in Video or -VR?
