If I put my car in for an MOT a month early and it fails, can I still see out my original MOT or is my car deemed un-roadworthy from that date and will no longer be driveable?
I think i am correct in saying it is your responsibilty to keep your car in roadworthy condition all year round. I.E. at MOT standard so if it fails then yes it needs sorting. For example if your tires don't have enough tread thats illegal and an MOT failure...feel free to correct anyone!
You should be ok, if the police etc do a check it will come up as showing a valid mot until the date it runs out.
But be careful as there can still be things wrong with the car that can incur penalty points & fines dodgy tyres/brakes or even no water in the washer bottle if the weather is dodgy
if it goes though a month early you get 13 months MOT but if it fails and you take it then you have up till the old MOT runs out to fix it before you have no MOT
